OK, so I was first introduced to Plush Chewie at the NY Toy Fair last February. I found him while meandering aimlessly in the isles until I stumbled upon the Underground Toys booth! He was like a beacon. I was taken immediately. I couldn’t take my eyes off this scrumptious furry muffin of love. Please see video here:
Seriously, I haven’t been that excited about a stuffed animal since my dad got me Barney, a stuffed Koala bear I got when I was around ten years old for Valentine’s Day. I loved that damn bear. Anyway, Plush Chewie came to me just a couple of weeks ago, thank you to Think Geek and Underground Toys, and everyone here at MTV.com and VH1.com hasn’t been the same since. Plush Chewie is definitely making his rounds on the floor and cheers up any mundane meeting. I’ve had multiple Chewie kidnappings, some with ransom notes AND pics, and he’s been dressed up with a Burger King crown with Hawaiian leis. My dear friend and coworker Michael Armstrong, has shown the most love and affection for Plush Chewie and I’m thinking of giving him joint custody and weekend visits. And now that I think of it, Plush Chewie does remind me a little of Teddy from the movie A.I. He’s not just a plushie, he’s like a creature! Here we are gazing into Times Square:
Chewie is fantastically furry and warm, piercing blue eyes that will make you crumble, and a shiny black nose. But what’s most captivating is that he TALKS! Well he talks Wookie, that is. Press a button and he’ll say all kinds of sweet nothings to you! I could just listen to him all day...
Plush Chewie is featured here in 15” and 24” models, and I fully believe that in this case, BIGGER IS BETTER. Think Geek also carries Plush Vader and Plush Yoda, among several other Star Wars characters. See family photo in Times Square here:
