Full disclosure: anything written beyond this point is by someone who actually really, irrationally loves the live-action movie.
My dubious taste in film aside, ComicM!X is reporting that Speed Racer is coming back to comics with a creative team mixing previous Speed Racer talent with some comic vets new to the world of high-speed racing joining the mix. According to the ComicsM!x article, the man who co-created Wolverine, Swamp Thing, and the Human Target will be joining the ranks as a writer on the new comic, joined by Tommy Yune, Robby Musso, Lee Kohse, and James Rochelle.
The original article doesn't mention the publisher on the book and the best I can find after digging around is a page on the IDW site that looks like it was updated sometime today (of course that just may have been the site being reloaded or re-published in the morning). In the past, IDW reprinted the NOW Comics-era Speed stories and the publisher has a reputation for bringing back classic properties under new creators--everything from G.I. Joe, to Transformers, to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Here's their synopsis of what they're calling "a new era of Speed":
“Mach Go Go Go!” Speed Racer and all of the characters you know and love—from Trixie to Chim-Chim and beyond—is back in all-new adventures! Kicking off a new era of Speed, writer Arie Kaplan (Mad Magazine) and artist Robby Musso (The Transformers) expand the mythos in exciting, new (and old) ways in a story that spans generations of Racers! Artist Alex Garner (Dominatrix) provides a special painted cover, and fellow Transformers artist extraordinaire E.J. Su. offers a retail incentive cover, too.
Besides my irrational affection for the movie, this is the other Speed Racer thing I love most in the world:
