Most of us have grown up in an age of terrific animation that will always hold a place in our cold, black hearts. Whether it be anime, adult swim, or nostalgic 80s properties, a lot of fans here in Atlanta are showing off their cartoon-love by dressing up as their favorite characters during this year's Dragon-Con! MTV Geek roamed the hotel hallways, food courts, and bars searching for a variety of great animation-based cosplay and you can see some of our findings-- like that affectionate Skeletor up above.
While there were approximately 385 attendees dressed as Finn, the prize costume here is that fantastic Beemo!
This is the one and only Inspector Gadget that we spotted His coat and hat were fully rigged with a siren and helicopter blades sprouting from his back. No word on the Go-Go-Gadget legs, though.
As usual, this would-be world conqueror made his presence known. This darker suit coupled with the cape and chromed face-shield helped him stand out from the rest of the Cobra crowd. Meanwhile, on the JOE side of things...
This Shipwreck definitely looked the part, we have to knock off points for the lack of an annoying parrot.
While in the 80s state of mind, we found this Eternian Prince living it up during the late-night hours at the con. We give him props for his prop-- that Power Sword is exactly the type of thing we hope will eventually be available on Matty Collector.
While looking like Vash the Stampede is a big part of pulling of this costume, it helps that the guy wearing it had the same goofy mannerisms down pat. Was he acting? Who knows, but it worked!
Question: For all the times we've seen Jessica Rabbit, why doesn't anyone dress up as Eddie Valiant? How does that make Bob Hoskins feel?!
This guy dresses up as Harvey Birdman for lots of cons, and he does it extremely well. He told us that the shoes were a new addition for this year. He also offered to represent us in court-- we declined.
Dr. Rockzo pulled himself away from "skiing" long enough to hit Dragon-Con and we got photos to prove it. Once again, this was a nice costume along with a passionate cosplayer.
Above you'll see Perona from One-Piece. The ghost princess was traveling alone though. In fact, we've seen very few one-Piece characters so far during this year's Dragon-Con.
