Those who closely follow George R. R. Martin's musing and progress reports on his "Not a Blog" website are quite familiar with the "Meereenese Knot," a particularly difficult convergence of plot lines in Martin's A Dance With Dragons. Centered around the development of Daenerys Targaryen, the Knot provided crucial setup for the resolution of the A Song of Ice and Fire series over the next two books, and had fans hanging on Martin's every word leading up to the release of Dance.
