Everyone needs some sort of retro phone or tablet case, you just never know when the next 80s party invite is going to hit your Facebook page and you better be prepared. The latest in retro iPad covers comes from the folks at Homade and it turns the tablet into an old-school Macintosh PC. Well, it makes the back look like one anyway.
This bad boy is available now for a cool $40 and, other than the gaudy Homade logo that takes up a good portion of the lower corner, it looks just like the old Macintosh 128k that hit the scene back in 1984. It's designed for iPad 2 and just like every iPad 2 case should it will let us keep the Smart Cover attached so the screen can stay safe from scratches too. It's also presicion cut so we'll have access to all of the physical buttons – volume rocker, rotation lock, etc.
Unfortunately, it won't make flying toasters zoom across the iPad screen when it gets sleepy, nor will it boot any classic Mac software on your slate. However, it may have some folks in the office doing double-takes if you set it on your desk with the Smart Cover open like they've done in the photo you see above - the floppy disk that appears to be stuck (what a surprise) is also a really nice touch so head over to USB Fever and check them out.
