Welcome to our time-traveling, space-warping round up of all the news we could find about the world’s most popular Timelord, Doctor Who. And there’s a ton of news to get through because, remember: this article is bigger on the inside.
ITEM! Matt Smith, You Are Top Gear
Top Gear, which is a show where cogs compete to determine who is the best at being a gear, and win $125,000 presented by the Nut & Bolt line of products, will feature the Eleventh Doctor himself, Matt Smith, in an upcoming episode! We always thought he was more of a pulley, but I guess we were way off on that. Seriously, though, if he doesn't shout "Geronimo!" while racing in a car, everything we know about the world is wrong. We should probably just pack our cog teeth and go.
ITEM! Sherlock Is Your Master Now
Will Benedict Cumberbatch - who many of you probably know just a liiiiiiitle better as BBC's Sherlock Holmes - play a new version of classic Who villain The Master in the fiftieth anniversary season? We handicapped the chances of that happening earlier in the week, so check out all the idle speculation here.
DEAD! Inspector Spacetime... No More! Maybe!
Last week we told you about the actual, real life Inspector Spacetime web series being created by the star of the parody of Doctor Who featured on Community, which is a really long sentence to write. At the time, in our collective heads, we wondered how that would happen, given it was being produced not by Sony, or NBC, or even with the blessing of Community creator Dan Harmon. Turns out? It can't happen, as Sony and NBC sent actor Travis Richey a cease and desist. Undeterred, he's relaunched the project as "Untitled Webseries About A Space Traveler Who Can Also Travel Through Time," which ironically, was the originally the name of Quantum Leap. Just kidding. Anyway, we would be shocked if, assuming Inspector Spacetime is featured again on Community, that the actor has been "rejuvenated" as a new actor.
CONFUSING! Gender Swapped Doctors Take Gallifrey One
News keeps coming out of Gallifrey One, including this extensive photoshoot featuring a collection of gender-swapped Doctors. Which is all fine and good, but if we see a dude dressed as Amy Pond, we're going to start doubting a lot of things.
STAIN'D! Glass TARDIS Is Churchier On The Inside
Churchier is a word, right? Sure it is:
CLOCKS! Eternity Clock Gives Us A Look at Gameplay
We THINK this is a new trailer for the rapidly approaching Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock game for PS3? Unfortunately, we watched the trailer, and now can't remember most of it... Though there are two black marker marks on our arms. Uh-oh.
