Love the squished bugs.
In a post on his official blog, Hill explained NOS4A2:
The thing is called NOS4A2 (it’s a vanity license plate — try sounding it out) and stars a vicious country rube named Charlie Manx who just happens to be 140 years old.
From this year's WonderCon in Anaheim, Ca, Hill dished a bit more on the book to FearNet:
NOS4A2 s a big book. It's about twice the size of either of my earlier novels and it has a lot of demented subplots and a lot of cliffhangers.
About the book's main antagonist, and owner of the titular plate, he said:
He's a very bad man with a very bad car. Bad things happen to the children who get in the car with him. These children wind up being driven to a place called Christmas Land, and if Disney Land is the happiest place on Earth, Christmas Land is the unhappiest place NOT on Earth. It's partially about people who have unnatural powers that they derive from vehicles.
He also discussed the comic book tie-in:
In the comic book which goes with it there's also this place Christmas Land, this sort of unsetting terrible place, which we expore in the book but only a little, and I thought there's a lot of stories that I could tell about Christmas Land.
No word on a release date for the book or comic as of yet.
