OK, here's the high-concept: a family struggles to keep their Titanic-themed casino afloat in Las Vegas. Sounding like "Bob's Burgers" with poker chips, this is the plot of "Lowe Rollers," an animated pilot from Ryan Reynolds and his DarkFire production company that has just received a script order from Fox.
This isn't Reynolds's first foray into animation; last year he sold a pilot to Fox for the series "And Then There Was Gordon," about an ordinary kid surrounded by prodigies. While that didn't get picked up for series, Reynolds may have a better chance here. Which begs the question: is the "Green Lantern" actor angling to be the next Seth McFarlane, becoming a mogul on Fox's Animation Domination lineup? Or will "Lowe Rollers" suffer a similar fate as the short lived (7 episodes) Jonah Hill series "Allen Gregory"?
And what about that "Deadpool" movie, Ryan?! Don't get too distracted!
