Though Malakili may have been the only one to ever love a Rancor, the fine members of the 501st Legion have taken it upon themselves to sponsor the creation of one. This life-size Rancor sculpture, based on the creature that first appeared in Return of the Jedi, will make it's public debut during the upcoming Star Wars Celebration VI and it looks be one fine specimen.

Dubbed Roxy the Rancor, this massive sculpture was created for the 501st Legion by Master Sculptor Rick Boehler and his team at Pizzazz Scenic. It looks absolutely massive, as a Rancor should, and this is just one of the many impressive works of art that will be on display at the Orlando Convention Center August 23-26 for Star Wars Celebration VI.
If you want to take an inside look at how this beast was created, check out the video below!
That's just a quick teaser of what looks to be a very lengthy and involved build process, but according to the end of the video a full build documentary will be hitting the web soon. We can't wait to see the whole process that brought this thing to life.
