The Walking Dead co-creator and artist drops a poster for the upcoming horror sequel.
Check out the full image after the jump.
Moore's poster features [REC] 3 lead characters Koldo (Diego Martín) and Clara (Leticia Dolera), whose wedding day is rudely interrupted by the living dead-ish (the second film in the series explained the origins of the mysterious virus that puts an entire apartment block on lockdown with a demonic origin).
The first two [REC] movies are found footage takes on the zombie genre (kind of, again, they're not quite zombies), taking place over one night when characters with cameras conveniently in tow get caught up in the bloody mayhem. Both of those films, co-directed by Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza, were played very straight, and the second was a great twist on what came before in the first film.
For the second two films in the series, Plaza and Balagueró decided to break the format, with each directing and writing their own separate films. Plaza has decided for his own to drop the found footage conceit and give his film a little more of a darkly comic take. Balagueró's film is on the way sometime in the future.
Here's the official synopsis:
Koldo and Clara are about to celebrate the most important day of their lives: their wedding. Everything appears to be running smoothly and the bride and groom and their families are enjoying a wonderful day; that is until some of the guests start showing signs of a strange illness. Before they know what’s happening, the bride and groom find themselves in the middle of a hellish ordeal, as an uncontrollable torrent of violence is unleashed on the wedding. Amidst the chaos, Koldo and Clara become separated and begin a desperate search for one another. What started off as an idyllic day quickly descends into a nightmare of the worst kind...
You can catch [REC] 3 via On Demand now and it'll be in select theaters on September 7th. You should really check out [REC] and [REC] 2 on DVD as soon as you get a chance.
