Welcome to our time-traveling, space-warping round up of all the news we could find about the world’s most popular Timelord, Doctor Who. And there’s a ton of news to get through because, remember: this article is bigger on the inside.
ITEM! When Is Doctor Who Series 7 Premiering?
No seriously, when? As of the press time of this article, we still don't know when the seventh series of Doctor Who will be premiering on either BBC, or BBC America. However! Today at the British Film Institute, Steven Moffat, the cast, and crew are premiering the first episode of the new season, 'Asylum of the Daleks,' and it's expected by pretty much everyone that they'll officially announce the premiere date at the Q&A following the screening. Previously, episodes have aired the week after their BFI premiere, but with no promo here in the States, that seems a little crazy, no? So stay tuned...
ITEM! Matt Smith Stays The Doctor Through 2014
Smith officially announced to the Sun that he'll be staying with Who through the 2014 season at least, which means he'll be riding in the TARDIS even longer than fan favorite David Tennant. So now Smith is the new fan favorite. Congratulations! As to why he's staying Smith told the paper that, “When Steven [Moffat] was going to pitch the next season to me not long ago, he said, ‘Are you ready to cry?' His first episode sounds great. It hasn’t been written yet but the idea is as brilliant and as mental as you’d expect from Steven. So there’s a lot to look forward to.”
BOWTIE! The Clothes Make The Man (Or Vice Versa)
Now we want to see a show called "Doctor Bowtie."
MATH! Doctor Who/Adventure Time Mash-Up
No, wait, we want to see this show, too! Or at least an Idris/Princess Bubblegum mash-up.
TRIFORCE! A Doctor To The Past
Love this mash-up of Zelda and Doctor Who, and now I'd link to play a whole game, please. Ganon is basically one of those Space Pigs from Aliens of London, right?
