We've been desperately wondering when the new season of Doctor Who would premiere on BBC America... And while we still don't know (smart money says September 1st or 2nd, but no official word yet), we do know when the first episode will premiere in the states; and to attend, all you need is 11 cents and a quick trigger finger.
At around 2pm EDT (possibly even as you read this very post!) tickets for the premiere in New York City will go on sale to the general public. And since BBC America couldn't make the tickets free, they decided to be cute about it, and sell them for 11 cents in honor of the Eleventh Doctor. Oh, and the premiere - which will take place on Saturday, August 25th at 6pm at a currently undisclosed location - will be followed by a live Q&A with Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and executive producer Caroline Skinner. Sweet.
In order to snag tickets, you have to following (or watching closely) to @BBCAmerica on Twitter, or check out the Doctor Who Tumblr, which will simultaneously post the info. You can also check out more info here. And if last year's screening is any indication, this will sell out in approximately eleven seconds, so get ready, Whovians.
Also good news? The premiere at the BFI was extremely well received, with critics saying that 'Asylum of the Daleks' may be one of the best season openers, ever. Trigger fingers ready...
