In a recent interview with Next Movie, director David Cronenberg, who's "Cosmopolis," starring Robert Pattison is set to hit theaters on August 24, shared his very harsh opinion of superhero flicks, especially "The Dark Knight Rises."
He said:
"But a superhero movie, by definition, you know, it's comic book. It's for kids. It's adolescent in its core. That has always been its appeal, and I think people who are saying, you know, 'Dark Knight Rises' is, you know, supreme cinema art, I don't think they know what the f**k they're talking about."
Adding:
"I think it's still Batman running around in a stupid cape."
So what do you guys think? Is Cronenberg right? Are superhero movies adolescent? And if they are, is that such a bad thing? Or is David way off base on this one? Let us know in the poll below:
