Rock gods Jack Black and Kyle Gass of Tenacious D appeared on Thursday's episode of the podcast WTF with Marc Maron to discuss their latest album "The Rize of the Fenix"and each members' respective careers, when Maron asked if there would be another "D" movie - following 2006's Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny. Jack Black responded:
Pick of Destiny was a bomb...I don't know if you heard...nobody went to see that in the theaters. It's owned by Warner Bros and I don't think they're gonna just let us have it back. Weirdly, it's like they don't want to make another movie, but they don't want us to make another movie.
He went on to say:
We sold our souls when we made the deal...
When Maron asked how they would approach a second film, Black shared:
We've got a plan to take it to the internet. Cuz apparently there's still some wild west...that's what we're gonna do...we've got a plan to do an animated series...a Tenacious animated series...we'll probably be solving crimes and writing songs.
So, if all goes as planned, fans should have animated D web adventures at some point in the future. Stay tuned to Geek for more on this as it develops.
