Though it's been widely suggested that Apple's "iPad mini" would be making its debut alongside the highly-anticipated iPhone 5 this September, it has apparently been “confirmed” that the smaller iPad model will be revealed later at a separate event.
A recent report from All Things D cites “several sources” as saying that the event rumored for September will be iPhone specific, while the iPad mini that many speculate Apple has been hard at work on will be getting its own reveal during an event to be held in October, after the new iPhone goes on sale.
With two new products on the way, it makes sense that Apple would break up the announcements and release dates. The iPhone makes Apple billions of dollars all by itself and releasing the brand-new iPad mini at the same time would only take help pull the new iPhone from the spotlight.
This is all rumor and speculation until Apple comes out with an official announcement, but we'll be expecting two separate Apple event announcements in the coming weeks.
