HBO's fantasy series took home 6 statues at The Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Saturday, which honor the tech side of TV entertainment. "Thrones" nabbed awards for Outstanding Art Direction, Outstanding Costumes for a Series, Outstanding Makeup for a Single-Camera Series (Non-Prosthetic), Outstanding Sound Editing for a Series and Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series.
Other geek-friendly shows that grabbed winged ladies were "Futurama," winning for Maurice LaMarche's Outstanding Voice-Over Performance. Nick's "The Penguins of Madagascar: The Return of the Revenge of Dr. Blowhole," grabbing the Outstanding Animated Program award. "Children's Hospital" won for the new category, Outstanding Special Class - Short-format Live-Action Entertainment Programs, which seems created just for Adult Swim's short attention span-centric programming. "The Walking Dead" shambled off with a trophy for Outstanding Prostetic Makeup for a Series, Miniseries, Movie or Special. And "American Horror Story" won for Best Hairstyling.
