Both "Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie Part 1: Beginnings" and "Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part 2: Eternal" will be on a double bill starting October 19th as Aniplex brings the two features to five cities across the U.S.
The two films, part of a planned trilogy, serve the function of the "Eden of the East" feature, condensing the story of the 12-episode anime down to movie length. Both tell the story of schoolgirl Madoka Kaname who's offered a wish by a witch's familiar, in order that she might become the world's most powerful magical girl (and subsequently have to fight powerful, evil witches).
The complete series was released here in the U.S. earlier this year, but Aniplex is offering fans (or newcomers) the chance to see this digest version of the story on the big screen next month in select cities. Additionally, L.A. residents will have the chance to get some free stuff for attending, so folks in the City of Angels might want to take the extra effort to show up.
You can find more info on tickets and showtimes at the "Madoka Magica" official page.
