After an unfortunate accident limited her mobility, Brad Soden was determined to get his nature-loving wife back to the outdoors. Sadly, most wheelchairs leave their users sticking to the pavement or other smooth surfaces to get around, so Soden took it upon himself to change things. Behold, the Tank Chair.
The Tank Chair uses rubber tracks and a high torque electric motor that not only make it look totally badass, but also allow it to travel over rough terrain and even through streams up to 2-feet deep. It's described as a custom off-road wheelchair capable of conquering “streams, mud, snow, sand, and gravel.” If you're a nature lover, this is definitely the wheelchair for you.
Not only does the Tank Chair provide the ability to enjoy family camping trips and other outdoor activities like hikes, it's also a working machine. Some customers have found great uses for the chair in places that aren't so wheelchair-friendly, such as ranches and the family farm.
