It's the most frightening time of the year (aside from tax time!) and all of the ghouls and goblins are coming out of the woodwork just in time for Halloween. Even this guy, who happens to be a zombie sculpture made entirely out of pumpkins and pumpkin guts, is getting ready for the festivities!
Created by master pumpkin carver Ray Villafane and his team at Villafane Studios, the zombie you see above was created using three of the largest pumpkins in the US, one of which weighed in at a staggering 1,872 pounds. The sculpture, which is on display at the New York Botanical Garden, depicts the 6-foot tall zombie holding a pumpkin vine that appears to pulling more zombies out of the ground. Awesome.

Last year, Villafane also created an incredible zombie sculpture for the New york Botanical Garden’s Haunted Pumpkin Garden, but this most recent creation is just as impressive. If you want to see how it all came together check out the making-of video below!
