The Tenth Doctor is back -- well, sort of. Former "Doctor Who" star David Tennant is lending his voice to the Cartoon Network hit "Star Wars: Clone Wars"! He will be playing a droid named Huyang, in an episode airing Nov. 10th called "A Test Of Strength."
The character is described as one who will greatly impact the lives of a group of young Jedi who were just setting out to create their own lightsabers in the previous episode.
"Star Wars: Clone Wars" Supervising Director Dave Filoni commented that Tennant was already a fan of the show, so it was a perfect fit:
"When I heard the Doctor himself, David Tennant, was a fan of Star Wars I knew I had to find a way to get in contact with him to see if he would perform on Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The result was 'Huyang,' an ancient droid in the service of the Jedi Order, whose sole task in life has been overseeing the construction of lightsabers. I thought David was perfect for the part and he did not disappoint. He delivered a performance which impressed even the Master himself, George Lucas."
Impressed George Lucas, huh? Well, I hear they might be casting soon for this little film called "Episode VII"...
Tennant will be returning to "Star Wars: Clone Wars" in two subsequent episodes, "Bound for Rescue" and "A Necessary Strength."
"A Test of Strength," airs Saturday, November 10th at 9:30am ET/PT on Cartoon Network.
