"Dexter" creator Jeff Lindsay is bringing America's favorite serial killer and his Dark Passenger to Marvel Comics this February in a 5-issue miniseries called wait for it..."Dexter."
The popular Showtime series is based on Lindsay's 6 (soon to be 7) book series, starting with 2004's "Darkly Dreaming Dexter," though the show diverts from the novels considerably. So, since Lindsey is writing the comics, I think it's safe to assume that the comic will stay truer to its prose roots as opposed to the Michael C. Hall shenanigans of the Showtime show, which is currently airing its penultimate season.
The miniseries will center on Dexter's battle with "The Skid Row Slasher," who, according to the official press release, "racks up a body count to rival that of Dexter."
"Dexter" will be drawn by "Deadpool" artist Dalibor Talajic.
Interesting factoid: the Marvel press release announcing the "Dexter" mini does not mention the TV show once. Just an observation.
