As you no doubt have heard by now, Peter Parker—better known to millions as Spider-Man—has died. Parker lost his life doing what he loved most, namely fighting crime. Let's take a look back at Parker's life and times:
Peter Parker debuted in "Amazing Fantasy" #15, back in 1962. The somewhat awkward but sweet teenager lived with his Uncle Ben and Aunt May in Queens, New York:
Parker's life changed forever when he was accidentally bitten by a radioactive spider, giving him strange and wonderful powers:
The lad originally used his newfound abilities for personal gain—but learned an important lesson when his beloved Uncle Ben was murdered by a thug Peter originally let get away:
Over the years, Peter Parker, as Spider-Man, has fought a fearsome rogue's gallery of villains including Doctor Octopus, Electro, the Green Goblin, and plenty more:
But somehow Peter always managed to crack a joke or two...
Get in some good lovin'...
Get married and then have it never happen...
Go through a "Goth" period:
And hang out with some pretty Amazing Friends:
