Deadline has revealed a pair of (relative) newcomers who'll be the leads in the upcoming pilot based on Reuben Fleischer's "Zombieland," and I can't believe this thing is really happening.
Who would have thought a couple of years ago that we'd be experiencing yet another zombie renaissance, this time on TV? And that the two flashpoints would be the relentlessly grim "The Walking Dead" and the goofy comedy "Zombieland?" As "The Walking Dead" gets set to return to AMC, Amazon Studios is chugging away at a pilot based on the 2009 film.
Taking the Jesse Eisenberg role of Columbus will be "Milkshake" actor Tyler Ross, who'll be joined by Abigail Breslin stand-in Izabela Vidovic as Little Rock. Ross's character is joined by three other survivors as possibly the only people left in the wake of a zombie apocalypse, surviving based on call-outs to zombie movie tropes and rules.
Not yet cast are Woody Harrelson's Tallahassee and and Emma Stone's Wichita.
