Last week, we reported on Marvel's "52 Slashes" teaser -- an image that obviously referred to NYC neighbor DC Comics and their "New 52" publishing program.
Well, Marvel sent out another "52 Slashes" image again -- this one in shocking red, and touting their appearance in SXSW. It also had the tagline "Count On Marvel To Always Deliver." Is this a diss about DC not having the presence at the Austin, Texas event that Marvel has?
So far, all is quiet on the DC Comics front in terms of the Comics Gang War Marvel has initiated with their "52 Slashes" campaign. Analysts say that it's not really DC's style to do a drive-by promo teaser diss. But in the midst of all this carnage, is now the time to step up their game?
Meanwhile, for us comic fans caught in the crossfire between West 50th street and 1700 Broadway, all we can do is keep our heads low and keeping buying those variant covers.
