Well, THAT was an intriguing headline, wasn't it? Does it have any substantiation at all? Have I just made this up out of nowhere for just some cheap, fleeting unique views?

SPOILERS AHEAD, as we recap this week's Batman "Death of the Family" chapters... Read More...

Well, I sold my set of "The Walking Dead" #1-30 on eBay several years ago for about $40, but I'm not bitter at all oh no I'm not. Read More...

"This one goes to eleven" -- Greg Capullo on how nail-bitingly intense things are going to get in "Death of the Family"

The "Death of the Family" event ripping its way through DC's Bat-Books reaches a new peak of intensity with "Batman" #14, which just hit stores. MTV Geek chatted with one-half of the powerhouse team anchoring "Batman," Greg Capullo, about his inspiration for the Joker's new look, working with writer Scott Snyder, and what new levels of insanity and revenge we can expect this issue. Then stick around for a sneak peek at pages from next month's issue! Read More...

What can I say? Crowdsourcing works!

The Kickstarter for a proposed animated film version of the cult Eric Powell comic "The Goon" has completed funding, Blur Studios (and the movie's producer, one David Fincher) exceeding their $400,000 goal. By raising $441,900 from 7,576 backers, "The Goon" has set a Kickstarter record for animation projects. Our own Charles Webb interviewed Blur Studios' Tim Miller and Jeff Fowler last month, and they explained why it was so important to go the Kickstarter route (rather than have Fincher pony up the $ himself): Read More...

It was revealed this morning that Channing Tatum -- yes, "Magic Mike," but I'll always know him from that G.I. Joe movie -- is People's "Sexiest Man Alive."

But this site is called "MTV Geek" -- I feel it necessary to put our own unique spin on things. So I ask: WHO IS THE SEXIEST (MALE) SUPERHERO ALIVE? Let us know via Twitter or Facebook, and at the end of  the day we'll pick THE SEXIEST (MALE) SUPEHERO ALIVE!

Here are some possibilities:

Batman

The epitome of "tall, dark and handsome." Read More...

"Where there’s a lot of love, there’s a lot of hate. And when it comes to these two, it’s like nothing else!" – Adam Glass on the relationship between Harley Quinn and Joker

Joker/Harley shippers take notice: issue #14 of "Suicide Squad," hitting stores this Wednesday, is going to be a doozy!

MTV Geek chatted with "Suicide Squad" writer Adam Glass about this chapter of the epic Batman "Death of the Family" storyline, and what impact being on the team has had on the psyche (delicate as it is) of Harley Quinn: Read More...

Oy. I try to side-step these recurring slugfests over whether some women are "truly" geeks or not (or merely playing "dress up" and a "role" designed to suck hapless fanboys in like the sirens of old) but this is like every day now.

This time it is "Ex Machina" artist Tony Harris who has sounded off on the apparent method of choice for such soundings, Facebook. I'm just going to quote the "PG" stuff:

"I cant remember if Ive said this before, but Im gonna say it anyway. I dont give a crap.I appreciate a pretty Gal as much as the next Hetero Male. Sometimes I even go in for some racy type stuff ( keeping the comments PG for my Ladies sake) but dammit, dammit, dammit I am so sick and tired of the whole COSPLAY-Chiks. I know a few who are actually pretty cool-and BIG Shocker, love and read Comics. So as in all things, they are the exception to the rule. Heres the statement I wanna make, based on THE RULE: "Hey! Quasi-Pretty-NOT-Hot-Girl, you are more pathetic than the REAL Nerds, who YOU secretly think are REALLY PATHETIC." Read More...

JMS on villains like Moloch and Parasite: "I'm a big believer in the idea that while we are the sum of our tears we are also the product of our choices in how we deal with those tears."

Acclaimed writer J. Michael Straczynski has a couple of new projects recently hit the stores: the graphic novel "Superman Earth One Vol. 2" and "Before Watchmen: Moloch." MTV Geek chatted with JMS about these two high-profile projects...and the interesting way that they both tell "The Villain's Story."

MTV Geek: Why Moloch? What intrigues you about this character?

JMS: He's probably the one character we know least from the original "Watchmen," but who plays a very pivotal role both in the history of the heroes and in the present. His life weaves in and out of the backgrounds of our other characters, but we never get to see much at all about who he is and how he got to where he is. I suppose it says something that I like plays like "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead", where we see a corner of the story we didn't really see before. Read More...

The cover by Kenneth Rocafort features Wonder Woman and Superman totally "doing it"

Imagine it -- an entire comic book with nothing but LOVE LOVE LOVE. It's like shipper fan-fiction, except totally official (unless some stories take place in imaginary universes...but official imaginary universes!).

DC Comics is releasing the 64-page anthology "Young Romance: A New 52 Valentine's Day Special" in (appropriately) February, and it promises to features stories of superhero schnookies featuring Wonder Woman, Superman, Batgirl, Catwoman, Batwoman, Aquaman, Mera, Apollo, Midnighter, and Dick Grayson (who, for some strange reason, is not being referred-to here as Nightwing...IS IT A CLUE TO SOMETHING?! Let's put our Speculator Sally caps on). Talent on "Young Romance" includes Andy Diggle, Ann Nocenti, Cecil Castellucci, Peter Milligan and Lauren Buekes, and artists Gene Ha, Emanuella Luppichinno, Phil Jimenez, Sanford Green. "Justice League #1 cover by David Finch

As we exclusively reported at the beginning of this week, DC Comics is celebrating  the  February 2013 release of "Justice League of America" #1 by putting out a whopping 52 variant covers -- one for each state in the nation, as well as Puerto Rico and Washington DC. Now the DC Source blog has revealed the first of these covers, depicting superheroes Vibe, Green Arrow, Catwoman, and Green Lantern holding up a flag in a pose reminiscent of the famous World War II Iwo Jima Memorial. A few days ago we brought you news that renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson had "discovered" Krypton -- or, at least where it might have been -- both within the pages of "Action Comics" 14 (in stores now, kiddies!) and possibly in real life as well.

Now DC Comics has helpfully created this animated presentation detailing exactly how Dr. Tyson made this discovery in the comic book or real life or both: Read More...
