Woo-Hoo! NECA has just announced a collaboration with 20th Century Fox to put out a limited set of figures celebrating classic guest stars on Fox's "The Simpsons," with Tom Hanks, Kid Rock, Hal Hefner, Yao Ming and James Brown in the first wave of 25 projected figures available in 2014.  They will have my money if the Brown figure goes, "This bandstand wasn't double-bolted!  Huh!"

But which guest-stars will make up the remaining figures in this line?

Now, what's of note is that these are guest stars playing themselves, as opposed to voicing original characters.  This is a gray and complicated area that demands deep thought, maybe.

I'm going out on a limb and saying that Mel Gibson won't get a figure, despite hanging extensively with Homer back in the day.  I am further uncertain as to whether this precludes Johnny Cash as the voice of the spirit-coyote Homer saw after eating Guatemalan insanity peppers, or John Waters as the very John Waters-esque John the kitsch-shop owner.   And what about David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as their "X-Files" characters?  And then there's the entire issue of Michael Jackson as "Michael Jackson."

At this point, I'm very confused.

Well, look: Here's a wish-list for some of our favorites, with appropriate outfits/accessories.  Ah, memories: Read More...

That aside, if you're a fan of these properties, AND have any sort of design acumen, you might want to take a gander at this contest, which just launched over at WeLoveFine: Read More...

[Correction: in the original post, we said that Phil Lamarr had hoped to voice Darkseid in subsequent seasons of "Young Justice." However, it was Khary Payton who wanted to provide the voice of the evil New God.]

"These guys are two of the best guys to act against in the booth," Aqualad voice actor Khary Payton says of his "Young Justice" colleagues Phil Lamarr and Dee Bradley Baker during a panel moderated by series writer Greg Weisman. Payton, who also voiced Cyborg, was joined by "Young Justice" comic artist Christopher Jones, voice actor Dee Bradley Baker, and the inestimable Phil Lamarr as they told stories about working on the recently-cancelled Cartoon Network series during Denver Comic Con.

"I went in to read for this, and I was literally the loudest Asian girl," Kelly Hu says about getting the role of Stacy in the Disney XD series "Phineas and Ferb." The "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" actress joked that when casting Asian characters in animated shows, you must cast Asian performers, adding that the whole reason she got the role was because none of the other Asian voice actresses who auditioned could get suitably angry.

Hu was joined by Dee Bradley Baker who voices Perry the Platypus who revealed the curious process of voice "acting" a platypus that neither talks nor emotes, while character designer Greg Guler tells stories about developing "Gargoyles" for Disney during this Denver Comic Con panel.
