An American comic legend, a big-time independent Canadian comic creator, and a Japanese musician/humanitarian team up.
Three very distinctive creators -- Stan Lee, Todd McFarlane, and Japanese music star Yoshiki -- are working on what sounds like an interesting (but still a little hazy) comic project that they'll be announcing officially during a panel at SDCC. Titled Blood Red Dragon, with writing by Jonathan Goff (Adventures of Spawn), the book is a supernatural fantasy with a lead character based on Yoshiki, a musician and record producer, formerly of the group X Japan known for his humanitarian work. According the press release, the book "features a surprise and first-of-its-kind publishing innovation that combines the unique skills of [the] three world-renowned artists." To me, this translates as some kind of transmedia tie-in, possibly with an album linked to the book from Yoshiki.

Remember when Conan used to hang out with a guy in a leopard-print unitard, a viking, a wizard, and a sassy girl thief while totally not killing dudes?

A Google search for the cartoon made me realize that J. Michael Straczynski created my second favorite villain from the series.
Samhain, if you're asking. With the Boogeyman as the distant first choice.
Anyway, after a bunch of minis culminating in the success of the Infestation crossover, Ray, Winston, Ray, and Egon are getting a regular gig starting in September under Infestation writer Erik Burham, with interiors by Dan Schoening and covers by Nick Runge.

It's mutant circus performers gone wild as FUNimation brings Benny Chan's sci-fi action movie City Under Siege to DVD and Blu Ray later this year. The film stars Hong Kong stars Aaron Kwok (The Storm Riders, the fairly badass Throw Down), Jacky Wu (Kung Fu Dunk, Invisible Target), and Shu Qi (Gorgeous, Three Times), and is written by Kan-Cheung Tsang. The movie appears to be a mix of wirework martial arts given the big-budget CG superhero treatment courtesy of Chan, who's directed Gen X Cops, New Police Story, and Who Am I. Read More...

At this rate, by September even we'll be rebooted.
While you wait for your Star Trek 2 fix, IDW will be bringing the continuing adventures of the revamped, reinvigorated, and rebooted Enterprise to comics. The goal of the new series is to "explore the vast implications of the alternate timeline created by the film in a new, monthly, ongoing comics series."
