At CES 2012, motion control was one of the things that kept getting pushed by television manufacturers and more, and chances are high that motion and gesture-based control will be how we will interact with many of our devices in the future. That can all be traced back directly to the success of Microsoft's Kinect, but where does it go from here? Rather than informing the next generation of technology, we want to know what's next.

If I had a Nickel for every time I mentioned Lenovo and someone said “Who's Lenovo” I would be pretty well off. For years Lenovo has been known for building solid laptops and desktops for the business and home in the US and globally. We stopped by the Lenovo showcase at CES 2012 in Vegas to check out some of their new offerings and you'll find a list of the products we liked the most below.

Lenovo IdeaCentre A720 All-in-One
The Lenovo IdeaCentre A720 is a feature rich all-in-one desktop that combines great design with excellent user options. The A720 sports a 27-inch flexible HD display that drops flat to play games on, slot loading Blu-Ray player, Intel Core i7 processor, 8 gigs of Ram, up to 1.8 TB of Storage (available SSD), 2 GB graphics card and supports ten-finger 10 finger touch. Gelaskins have been creating artistic skins and prints for everything from iPhones to MacBooks to Xbox 360 Controllers and beyond since 2005, and they are continually adding multiple artists to their folds to bring plenty of different options that you can wrap your gadgets in. They also allow you to create your own designs, so you can finally cover your Kindle in that LOLCAT picture you're so proud of.

Their normal skins feature tiny air channels courtesy of 3M technology, which eliminate they air bubbles that get left behind by people who suck at applying them, like me. However, while these make your tech look spectacular, they don't offer any real protection other than keeping your device from getting scratched up. Enter the Hardcase, Gelaskins first polycarbonate shell-type case that wraps your device in both plastic and artwork, making it secure as well as stylish.

Right now the cases are only available for the iPhone 4/4S and the iPhone 3/3GS, and are priced at $34.95 and $29.95 respectively. Hopefully they will expand the line beyond Apple's iPhone because after using one for the past few days, I'm already in love with it. Geeks will appreciate the Derek Prospero "Action Packed" hardcase which I've been using, but they literally have dozens of designs, all with matching wallpapers.

Check out their full range of skins as well as the hardcase, and figure out what you'd like to dress your gadgets in while reading the rest of MTV Geek's CES 2012 coverage.

Griffin Technology had a lot to show off at CES 2012, including the nifty Helo TC Assault, but one of their coolest upcoming products is the Griffin Twenty Audio Amplifier. This little gadget will give any old speakers AirPlay support so you don't have to run out and buy an upgraded speaker system to wirelessly send your iTunes music library around the home. Its a great Idea and anyone who has a set of old speakers and an Airport Express system will be good to go. Read More...

Parrot, the company behind the high-flying, iOS-powered AR Drone, has partnered with Philippe Starck to bring the ZIK ultra-deluxe set of Bluetooth headphones to the market. These gorgeous looking headphones are active noise canceling through the use of three external microphones, and they can be used with your Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone or through multiple audio sources through the cable jack.

One of the coolest features is the addition of a touch panel on the right earpiece,. which allows you to set the volume by sweeping your finger vertically, and you can select tracks by moving your finger left or right. They also contain a presence-sensor system that shuts off the headphones when they are removed, so you won't have to worry about wearing down the battery when you aren't wearing it. At this year's CES Polaroid a new line of Premium 3D Vision glasses that use passive circular-polarized 3D technology, hoping to save people the embarrassment of being caught in chunky, boring 3D glasses. These glasses are curved, not flat, and have been designed for professional use as well. People that work with 3D images spend eight hours a day looking through these lenses, and who wants to look boring while they work?

The Professional 3D Eyewear line also includes two frames with interchangeable lenses, one set is 3D while the other set contains sunglass lenses. They also offer Dual Gaming glasses that split the image on a television into two signals so that both players wearing the glasses can see different images, cutting out the need for splitscreen gameplay. If you've ever had to share a screen with someone in Call of Duty 3: Modern Warfare, then you know how much it sucks to give up real estate on the screen.

“We are excited to showcase our latest 3D eyewear line at CES and look forward to showing consumers how attainable a high-quality 3D experience is whether in the movie theater, at work, or in the home, “ said Jerry Dreifuss, global marketing director at Polaroid Eyewear. “Polaroid Eyewear’s line features circular technology and fashionable frames, providing both the technology and style 3D fans have come to expect from Polaroid.”

You probably know JAKKS from their line of plug and play video games, like the old-school joystick you can plug in to have Ms. Pac-Man magically appear on your screen for some retro-arcade, zombie-blasting action. "AMC is excited to work with JAKKS Pacific to provide an innovative way for our fans to enjoy more of 'The Walking Dead,'" said Marci Wiseman, AMC's Senior Vice President of Business Affairs.

The Walking Dead Deluxe TV Game from JAKKS brings to life the show's action with a realistic 'pump and shoot' shotgun controller, multiple levels of Zombie adventures, and a variety of game modes. As with all of JAKKS' TV Games titles, the controller simply plugs into the A/V jacks of any standard TV and contains multiple games in each controller, and no additional consoles or software are needed. While not yet rated, the game is submitted for an ESRB T for Teen video game rating.

The game will feature multiple modes and will retail for $39.99, and features animated models of characters from the TV show. No word if they'll include Merle Dixon for some redneck zombie action, although they could include him in the JAKKS Big Buck Hunter Pro game for authenticity.

When the AR.Drone was first introduced we really didn't think flying the smartphone controlled UAV could get any easier, but with the help of new sensors and the "Absolute Control" flight mode Parrot proved us wrong during our hands-on at CES 2012. Justin Bieber and the TOSY mRobo

Justin Bieber and the TOSY mRobo

By Kevin Kelly

Justin Bieber might have the moves and the music, but he's not above turning to robotic friends for assistance. At CES 2012, TOSY Robotics showed off the prototype for their MRobo Ultra Bass robot along with the Biebs, much to the delight of the audience. The mRobo looks like a torso-shaped speaker when it's not in motion, and then suddenly comes to life by sprouting limbs and a head, and can gyrate and strut to the beat. His abdomen is a giant speaker that pumps out the music, he sports shades, and brings the funk.

TOSY, based out of Vietnam, was also showing off the DiscoRobo who you can watch below, and the SketRobot which can draw thousands of different images through facial recognition technology. They're also working on a Topio 3.0 "humanoid robot capable of playing ping-pong," and plenty of other robotic innovations.

Just wait until these things become self-aware and threatens to destroy the entire human race through ping-pong warfare. From their own press release, they make "Gigantic robots, Service robots, Industrial robots and High-tech toys. TOSY Robotics aspires to become the world’s leading manufacturer in robotics technology with its original design - TOPIO robots - living side by side with human everywhere." Read More...

If you are caught full-on in the grip of social media, then you know that one of the biggest problems is sorting through all of the chaff. You might have to wade through 50 kitten photos before you give up just before you could have stumbled across a recommendation about a cool bar that just opened right by your apartment. Or maybe Seth Green is in the toy shop a block from where you're sitting, talking about his massive collection of M.A.S.K. toys.

That's where Roamz, a location-aware app from Australia, wants to step in and help out. The problem with Facebook, Twitter, and other services is that it can be difficult to find happenings or places that are local to you, and also contain things you might be interested in. Roamz begins figuring out what you like, based on your profiles, and learns as it goes, recommending nearby things that it thinks you might be interested in. Currently, it links with Twitter, Facebook, and Foursquare, pulling in content from those services based on your location.

Seeing as how CES is packed with social media savvy techies, I'm able to get updates like this one on In-N-Out Burger from Foursquare: "Even though this is f*cking Las Vegas, these guys close at 1 or 1:30AM." So, I know where not to go if I'm in the mood for a late-night burger fix.

You can download Roamz for free right now and give it a whirl on iOS devices, with plans for expansion coming soon.

The House of Marley has been jammin' in full force at CES 2012, revealing new bag-style iPhone/iPod docks and Bluetooth speakers. Just like House of Marley's current offerings, the new products stand apart from the crowd by coming together with eco-friendly materials and stylish designs. Another positive note is the fact that 5% of all profits go directly to 1Love.org, which provides funding to charities and causes focused on youth, planet and peace. Read More...

Its no secret that there's a lot of potential for hydrogen fuel cells as an alternative energy source, but using them to charge up your iPhone? That's just crazy talk, right? I used to think so, but after stumbling upon the PowerTrekk booth at CES 2012 I happily stand corrected.

The PowerTrekk system is primarily meant for emergency situations and folks who love spending time in the great outdoors, away from civilization and electricity. I'm not going to get too deep into the specifics here, but I'll do my best to give you quick breakdown of how it works. Read More...

We're approaching a parity in the world of celebrities and audio products, where each and every one of them will have their own headphone line. Just at CES alone we've had new headphones and earbuds from Snooki, Ludcacris, and now 50 Cent is joining the fray with his Sync by 50 wireless headphone and Street by 50 wired headphone offerings from SMS Audio.

The Sync by 50 retail for $399.95, and the Street by 50 are priced at $299.95 and in a recent partnership with Feeding America, all of the online U.S. sales through the website will provide 250 meals to American families in need. That's a nice gesture from 50 for these pricy headphones, and we hope the other celebs in this space follow his lead.
