MTV Geek First Look: Playmates' TMNT Classic Collection Action Figures!

The recycling of our childhood toys just keeps getting better and better! First, Masters of the Universe Classics rekindled our love of magical barbarians. Then, ThunderCats Classics brought Lion-O back into our lives. Now, some of the most cherished (and radical) heroes of our youth have been re-imagined with the release of Playmates Toys' Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Classic Collection! That's right, TMNT Classics! We were awash with nostalgia when first seeing these photos, and it has torn us up inside having to wait until now to share the Turtle Power with all of you in this first look! Playmates Toys, the company behind the vintage TMNT line, has taken the same looks from the 1988 TV show and perfected them by adding tons of articulation and joined that with the smooth sculpting of those original Heroes in a Half-Shell.

What? Another EXCLUSIVE Look at 2012 ThunderCats Toys?!

We hope you enjoyed yesterday's ThunderCats action figure reveals, and today we're bringing you an exclusive first look at a couple of the newest vehicles to hit shelves in 2012! Both Mumm-Ra's Storm Charger and the Armor of Omens are part of the 4" line of ThunderCats toys and are based on designs on the terrific animated series on Cartoon Network. while the tons of photos we have would help satiate fan's appetites, we also took some time to talk with Amanda Burns, marketing brand manager with Bandai America Incorporated about both vehicles and what they can do.

EXCLUSIVE First Look at 2012 ThunderCats 6 Inch Figures with Interview

While the rest of the internet will soon pass these images around like a cheap bottle of cooking wine at a hobo's campfire, we here at MTV Geek! are excited to bring you these first looks at new releases from both the 6" ThunderCats Classics and Modern line. That's right, 6 inch ThunderCats Classics! "What the hell?!" Yeah, that was our reaction too. So, we went right to the source and got some inside info from Brehan Maul, senior director of marketing, boys, at Bandai America Incorporated, about the change in scale and a few hints about upcoming releases. Oh, and we also asked about that whole black-joint problem of Lion-O's. You're welcome.

Today, we here at MTV Geek are excited to announce the first in a series of graphic novels from Heavy Metal about The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse! Book 1 is titled Helldiver and was created by Michael Mendheim with artwork by the ever-awesome Simon Bisley!

We here at MTV Geek! are proud to present this exclusive first look at Mezco Toyz’ DC Universe Mez-Itz Mega Scale Batman! The blue and gray version of Bruce is the limited variant but the black and gray pile of vinyl-badass won’t be around forever. Both versions clock in at around 200 bucks, which is a small price to pay for these stylized Cape Crusaders.

Perhaps the greatest summer exclusive in the universe, Mezco proudly presents the Mega Scale Batman Mez-Itz. Standing taller than many newborn infants, this Batman Mez-Itz measures 20 inches from the tip of his ears to the soles of his batboots.

He features a real cloth black cape. Just like the standard Mez-Itz, he features 5 points of articulation and 1000 points of fun.

This Mega Scale Mez-Itz Batman will premiere at the world famous San Diego Comic Con, but is also available for pre-order at:

MTV Geek Exclusive First Look: DC Universe Classics Wave 19!

Mattel’s DC Universe Classics has consistently been one our favorite modern toy lines. It’s hard to believe that there have been 16 waves released so far with two more (17 & 18) that were announced at this year’s Toy Fair. Lately DCUC has featured themed lineups, to many a fan’s aggravation as they patiently wait to complete their various classic teams. While the upcoming Wave 19 is themed as well, it features mostly classic interpretations of the Justice Society of America and their villains. That’s right, a JSA wave – and we’ve got both the first pics AND the complete bios for all of the figures in the lineup, including a shot of the Collect & Connect figure: S.T.R.I.P.E.!

Today, we here at MTV Geek! are bringing you some exclusive Transformers toy images unlike any we’ve had before! Below is a sneak peek at Hasbro’s upcoming Basic Optimus Prime, Basic Bumblebee, and Ratchet Kre-O sets. Kre-O is Hasbro’s foray into the building toy market and will surely score them some of Lego’s sweet, brick-laden cash and what better way to do that than with the Transformers? They seem to be a natural fit thanks to their transforming qualities, and the finished products in both robot and vehicle modes look pretty damn good if we say so ourselves… and we do!
