NASA's 2,000 pound, car-sized Curiosity rover landed safely on Mars Monday morning, successfully beginning its search for life on the Red Planet, but there's another curiosity rover here on Earth that's causing quite a stir. Nothing is more satisfying than building something with your own two hands-- especially when it's a 1:1 scale AK47 assault rifle! Sure, making a replica firearm out of LEGOs isn't going to be useful when surrounded by zombie hordes, but it also doesn't require a background check. Jack Streat has just authored a how-to book titled LEGO Heavy Weapons that is filled with step-by-step guides on everything from an M-4 to the .50 caliber Desert Eagle pistol. Basically, if you loved any of the weapons you've seen in video games or action flicks (and have a little LEGO building skill) then you can re-create your very own version at home. Granted, it might take a while to collect that many black bricks-- but until then, your weapons shall be like rainbows!

Finally, after all these years, the internet and phones have finally proven truly useful! That's right, forget all of the social media nonsense, calling loved ones, or even the mountains of pornography-- now you can make your own LEGO stop motion videos using the DC Superheroes! The future is now, people! The LEGO DC Super Heroes Movie Maker app clocks in at the low, low price of FREE and is available in the Apple iTunes store. This will surely throw the world into turmoil as now only Android users will still manage to be productive. Seems like the perfect super villain ploy...

We've seen people build some pretty amazing stuff with LEGO, including detailed scenes from Mad Max and the locations of Middle Earth in their entirety. When LEGO first announced their Lord of the Rings line, we were excited by the prospects of mini-figure armies fighting for control of Middle Earth! Space travel is anything but cheap, however, two Canadian high school students recently sent a man into space on mere $400 budget! Okay, so it wasn't a real man and he didn't actually go into space, but sending a Lego man up 80,000 feet to catch a glimpse of the Earth's curvature and the blackness of space is still pretty impressive when you consider the young duo did it just for fun. The one Ring could easily fit over Frodo's entire body now that he and his Fellowship are about to be immortalized as LEGO Minifigs in the upcoming Lord of the Rings line! The two images we were sent show a set of the fine folk of Middle Earth who set out to destroy the Ring of Power, and a set of shifty-eyed Orcs and nogoodniks. Christopher Nolan’s Batman movies have featured one of the coolest Batmobiles we’ve ever seen. The Tumbler (as its known in the films) was basically a tank that could plow through or drive over just about any obstacle.
