Initially set to hit comic-shop shelves April 17, Marvel's new, all-female X-Men title by writer Brian Wood ("DMZ," "Star Wars") and artist Olivier Coipel ("Fear Itself") is all set to really release May 29, and the publisher's got the preview pages to prove it. Five of them, in fact.

Wednesday marked the release of the fourth and final installment in Marvel's Infinite Comics prequels to its new "Guardians of the Galaxy" series, each one focusing on a specific member of the team, and all written by Brian Michael Bendis. The newest one focuses on tree-like hero Groot, with previous installments centering on Gamora, Rocket Raccoon and Drax the Destroyer.
Starlord didn't need a introductory comic, I guess.

This September, "X-Factor" is finished. During C2E2 over the weekend, Marvel announced that issue #262 under writer Peter David would be the last of the long-running title. Of all of the publisher's mutant books in the wake of M-Day (has it been that long?) David's "X-Factor" has survived and thrived under the weight of major events, a rotating stable of artists, and more importantly, the fickleness of a comic market that not be keen to support a series that was essentially an evolving, long-form mystery.
The road to the end begins this summer, and while Mr. David didn't promise that all secrets would be revealed or anything as grand as all that, he does hint that there will be some finality to his run--and as a reader, I can only hope that mutant sometimes detective Jamie Madrox and mystery girl Lyla Miller will arrive at the end of all of their enigmas.

Salinger was the star of the 1990 "Captain America" from director Albert Pyun ("Cyborg," "The Sword and the Sorcerer") and the second time the Star-Spangled Avenger was in a feature.
