Shazam! Mattel's subscription service Matty Collector has revealed among its exclusives for San Diego Comic-Con an exclusive action figure based on the original Captain Marvel...uh, we mean "Shazam." Sorry, Billy Batson is not included.

Based on the version of the character that's appeared as a back-up feature in Justice League by Geoff Johns and Gary Frank, the figure's part of Mattel's "Club Infinite Earths" series and can stand alongside DC Universe Classics or the DC Signature Collection figures to battle evil!

Here's some of the pics from Matty Collector's website: Read More...

Welcome to the very first installment of MTV Geek's Toy Throwdown! Plastic will melt, joints will be loosened, and paint is gonna get scratched as action figures, of the world's most beloved characters, tear each other apart in a battle-to-the-death each week-- and YOU get to decide the victor!

UPDATE: Find out who won after the jump!

Ram Man, named after his insatiable appetite for Eternian prostitutes ramming things, has finally made his way into Mattel's Masters of the Universe Classics line and today I'm reviewing this mountainous piece of plastic!

Superman Movie Master Close Up

On June 14th, Warner Bros' "Man of Steel" arrives in theaters with the power of an exploding planet (or a non-exploding planet, as rumors would lead us to believe) and as much as I enjoy movies, the accompanying toy lines can really influence the line between love and obsession I build for a franchise. "Star Wars", "Jurassic Park", "Batman Returns", and others would not be held nearly as dear to my heart if not for the childhood memories I gained from playing with the action figures, and vehicles, based on the characters I watched on the big screen. Today, I've matured enough (barely) to enjoy a movie for what it is-- but, that doesn't mean I also can't appreciate a well-made licensed toy. Mattel has released the first wave of collector-aimed "Man of Steel" Movie Masters and today I'm taking a closer look at Superman!

Read on to see if the Big Blue Boy Scout can live up to the excitement the trailers for the film have built up!

"Michelle Pfeiffer? Ha! The only real Catwoman is Julie Newmar, Lee Meriwetherr or Eartha Kitt." -- Adam West

Holy overused Burt Ward joke, Batman! The pop-cultural resurgence of the 1966 "Batman" TV series with Adam West continues with these new Mattel figures that capture the campy-cool vibe of the original actors down to the last detail...and we mean DETAIL.

As much as we love Mattel's "Masters of the Universe Classics" figures...we're pretty sure the Comet Warriors were the last figures from the original line anyone expected to get a Classics re-do, let alone as the high-profile San Diego Comic-Con exclusive figures for this year.

What is the best part of my job? Getting to review a toy as awesomely awesome as this huge Masters of the Universe  Granamyr dragon!

When a big couple of boxes of exclusives from the last few months showed up on my doorstep, it was my sacred duty to test these for you, and take a bunch of photos of the experience.
