Director Steven Kostanski's green screen epic is hitting DVD on April 30 from Dark Sky Films and for those of you who haven't had a chance to see this post-apocalyptic action/comedy/adventure homage to the 80's featuring cyborgs, mutants, martial artists, and demons, here's all of those things.
If you were thinking about picking up the soundtrack to "Oblivion," hold off before you head to iTunes or your favorite digital music service: Mondo has found a reason for you to pick up a physical copy of the soundtrack thanks to a limited edition LP featuring the work of composers Anthony Gonzalez of M83 and Joseph Trapanese.
The Tom Cruise feature is getting a deluxe, 2X LP featuring the 17-track score from t-shirt and poster company Mondo, and we think you might want to pick it up.
One of the stranger rivalries to develop among "Saturday Night Live" alumni was the one between Mike Myers and Dana Carvey* who've been quietly feuding over the years about their work together on the big green adaptation of their "Wayne's World" skit. Even after the 1992 film made piles of money for Paramount (full disclosure: MTV and Paramount share parent company Viacom), Carvey felt that Myers was trying to minimize his role in a sequel (after Myers allegedly attempted to block Carvey from being in the first film), and even Penelope Spheeris, who directed the film, was even dragged into the mess, blocked from directing the lackluster "Wayne's World 2" after ignoring Myers' editing notes. Most of the beef seems to stem from Myers (who's become terribly rich thanks to the "Shrek" and "Austin Powers" franchises) engaging in beastly behavior with his collaborators.
Well, all parties have decided to put the past behind them, agreeing to participate in an April 23 reunion event at the Academy of Motion Picture Sciences Wilshire Boulevard location, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Since the future of a "Dredd 3D" feature film sequel is about as likely as spinoff movie featuring Ma-Ma, Karl Urban's take on the toughest cop in Mega City One might not be gone forever. IGN (via Splashpage) has confirmed that publisher 2000 A.D. will continue the adventures of movie Dredd this September in a comic book sequel.
For now, the publisher is simply teasing us with a single image (you can see the full promo after the jump)--will a "Dredd" comic be enough to sate fans of the movie? And what happens if fans support the book?
Yesterday we ran down the list of all of the "Iron Man"-related merchandise that would be flooding shelves in advance of the second sequel next month. Add to that this collection of tees printed by Threadless inspired by classic and modern Iron Man designs. The original shirts were all commissioned as part of a contest where nearly 250 entrants submitted their best designs from which Threadless chose the best 23.
We've chosen five of the best from the 23 (including the one at the top of this post). For the full collection, head over to the Threadless sale page.
