What would "Star Wars" sound like without the familiar strains of composer John Williams? We won't be finding out anytime soon, since Disney and LucasFilm have announced that the prolific film composer will be responsible for the music in "Star Wars: Episode VII."

Here's an interview with the living legend confirming the news that just came out of Star Wars Celebration in Europe:

LucasFilm and Disney were noticeably absent from SDCC last week, presumably holding all of their big "Star Wars" news for events they're able to control--like the latest Star Wars Celebration, taking place in Europe. Today's big reveal was that the upcoming Disney Channel series, "Star Wars Rebels," has a logo and some concept art to go with it, based on the designs of the original trilogy concept artist Ralph McQuarrie.

Kleefeld's Fanthropology: Going Beyond Fandom

When was the last time you went to a decent-sized comic or science fiction convention and didn't see a squad of Stormtroopers? Those guys seem to be as ever-present at cons as they are in the movies! Frequently, the folks who show up in movie-quality-looking Stormtrooper uniforms are part of the 501st Legion, a Star Wars fan club organized around cosplaying as members of The Empire from George Lucas' universe. Calling them a "fan club" is something of a disservice, though, as there are nearly 11,000 active members.

Ray Park is ready for another fight, and more weapons, please. That’s the message the Scottish actor and martial artist -- best known for his roles as Toad in Bryan Singer’s “X-Men,” Darth Maul in “Star Wars: Episode I” and Snake Eyes in the live-action “G.I. Whether you're for it, against it, or ambivalent, Star Wars: Episode VII is coming - and soon, if a recently leaked casting announcement is to be believed. And rather than let Lucasfilm, J.J. Mmmm, teddy bears. Blogger LydMc created these little guys while hosting the last of a three-part Star Wars marathon with her friends and fellow Ewok-eating enthusiasts. By combining rice, salmon, basil, and fresh veggies she transformed plain old sushi (still pretty great in the grand scheme of things) into a delicious nerdy treat. She even provides us with the ingenious Kiwoks (that’s right, kiwis dressed up like Ewoks) for dessert!

Fortunately, LydMc posted her step-by-step process on her blog, so now you too can imbibe in these little riceballs full of delicious. Read More...

Comedy scribe Michael Price is a Jedi master of funny. A bulk of his resume comes loaded with more than 100 episodes of “The Simpsons,” a show that continues to tap him to write and co-executive produce. But he’s currently taking a vacation from Springfield to that galaxy far, far away.

LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles - The Phantom Clone,” the third TV special of its kind, premieres tonight on Cartoon Network. These animated spoofs of the "Star Wars" universe features LEGO-style characters getting cheeky, and it all comes to life courtesy of Price’s pen.

While in New York for the recent unveiling of a life-size replica of an X-Wing Fighter built entirely out of LEGOs, Price talked about what it’s like putting jokes in the mouths of Jedis.
