Remember the little boy from that Volkswagen Star Wars ad that set the world ablaze during Superbowl XLV where he attempted to use the force while dressed as Darth Vader? Well we're sorry to report that the littlest member of the Dark Side is undergoing open-heart surgery to fix a hole in his heart and have his pulmonary valve replaced.

7 year-old Max Page checked into the Children's Hospital Los Angeles today and according to his mother Jennifer Page, in an interview on NBC's "Today Show" Max is understandably afraid:

A lot of intriguing information regarding the highly-anticipated "Star Wars" TV show in this Den Of Geek interview with Lucasfilm's Rick McCallum, top of which: it's still going to happen, and 50 hours of it is already scripted. What's holding the television program up now has to do with the limits of TV production budgets, and the show's rather adult theme, which the producer referred to as being "like 'Deadwood' in space":

"It so unlike anything you’ve ever associated with George before in relation to Star Wars. These aren’t for kids. I mean, we hope they’ll watch, but it’s not being targeted at 8-to-9 year old boys." Read More...

Well he's been saying it for a while, he's claimed to be "done" with "Star Wars," but now, it's official: George Lucas is retiring from Lucasfilm Ltd., the very Empire company he built from the ground up.

In an official press release from Lucasfilm, Lucas said:

“I’ve spent my life building Lucasfilm and as I shift my focus into other directions I wanted to make sure it was in the hands of someone equipped to carry my vision into the future…”

What that future is, is at the moment uncertain. Is it finally time for George to start making those experimental flicks that he's been talking up for years now? In an interview with the fittingly titled "Empire" magazine, he said:

I'm moving away from the company, I'm moving away from all my businesses, I'm finishing all my obligations and I'm going to retire to my garage with my saw and hammer and build hobby movies. I've always wanted to make movies that were more experimental in nature, and not have to worry about them showing in movie theaters.

Fantasy Flight blew the doors off of Gen Con last year when they announced their acquisition of the Star Wars hobby gaming license, revealing plans for both a living card game and a space combat miniatures game. It's been a patient wait for fans, though, as the games went back behind the curtain and news on their development became scarce. That's all about to change now as the X-Wing Miniatures Game is ready for prime time.

X-Wing will launch this Summer (which is about as specific as most board game release date gets) at a retail price of $39.95. Included in the base set will be one X-Wing model and two TIE Fighter models, as well as all of the cards, counters, and custom 8-sided dice required to play the game.

When recently quizzed by TMZ paps regarding possible more sequels/prequels to his mega-popular Star Wars franchise, George Lucas was straight and to-the-point:

"NEVER."

In a post entitled "Star Wars Is Dead," TMZ shows video of Lucas saying "never" to the question of further films in the series, as well as adding (with a subtle smirk) "I'm retired."

So I did a post last month on previewing the Scene It Star Wars game coming out this fall and now they have just released a teaser trailer to show us Jedis what we'll be looking forward to!

Just in case you missed it, here again are the game details:

From the Battle of Naboo to the birth of Luke Skywalker, from the rise of Darth Vader to the fall of the Galactic Empire - Scene It? Star Wars delivers hours of fun spanning the complete Star Wars film saga. As one of the engaging new puzzle types introduced in this landmark title, the “Jedi Archives” challenges players to solve puzzles utilizing behind-the- scenes film assets, from storyboards, production stills, concept art and more.  The Force will need to be with fans as they try to solve the “Finish the Line” puzzles, which task Star Wars devotees to complete key dialogue from the films.  The “Imperial Listening Post” incorporates the fantastic sound effects of Star Wars, as players endeavor to identify the iconic hum of lightsabers, or the inspiration of Chewbacca’s signature voice. Emulating R2-D2’s famous projector, “Holonet Disruptions” presents clues in holographic projections, as first depicted in the original Star Wars.
