You know, after watching the documentary "The People Vs. George Lucas" recently, I sort of despaired about ever seeing a new "Star Wars" film again. So this news, so late on a Tuesday (for a East Coaster still in a daze from Hurricane Sandy)...well, it just about sent my jaw dropping to the floor. A NEW STAR WARS MOVIE, people! Yes, my mind is as blown as yours is. Let's start off with what we do know so far:

You might not be able to put a price tag on beloved franchises like "Indiana Jones" and "Star Wars", but apparently 4.05 billion dollars is in the ballpark. That's how much the Walt Disney Company shelled out for all of Lucasfilm's holdings including special effects house Industrial Light and Magic and Skywalker Sound, and presumably their game development arm, Lucasarts. The whole thing will be overseen by Kathleen Kennedy, who's currently the co-chairperson of Lucasarts and will join Disney as president of Lucasfilm. Read More...

Fantasy Flight Games may be making a name for itself beyond the core hobby gaming community by producing games based on hit properties such as "Game of Thrones" and "Star Wars," but that doesn't mean these products are designed without serious competition in mind.

From November 9th to 11th, gamers will converge on the Fantasy Flight Games headquarters and event center in Roseville, MN, to participate in the inaugural World Championship Weekend. They'll be hoping to claim titles in the following games: "A Game of Thrones: The Card Game," "Android: Netrunner The Card Game," "Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game," "Dust Tactics," "Dust Warfare," "Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game," and the "Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures Game."

Lucasfilm has graciously given MTV Geek an exclusive image of Count Dooku seen here. It's concept art from the scene where Mother Talzin puts a spell on Dooku.

The box set includes 4 VAM animated turntables which are intended to give the viewer a closer look at the fine details the Lucasfilm artists infused into each asset in order to bring "The Clone Wars" to life.  Sourced from the same animation files used in the creation of the episodes, they are meant to highlight the unique look and style defined by the show - from the design and modeling, to the painted textures and lighting, and finally to the animation and FX  - and present it in a digestible way to the fans of the series.
