When LEGO first announced their Lord of the Rings line, we were excited by the prospects of mini-figure armies fighting for control of Middle Earth! At Toy Fair 2012, the LEGO showroom didn't disappoint with the first wave of sets from the blockbuster films based on the world created by J.R.R. Tolkein. While we can expect tons more LotR LEGOs in the future, this first barrage gives a nice variety, from Gandalf's fireworks-laden wagon to the walls of Helm's Deep! Toy Fair 2012: Mattel Unleashes Bane in 'The Dark Knight Rises' Movie Masters Line

With Warner Bros. "The Dark Knight Rises" hitting theaters on July 20th, it's been no surprise that we've seen tons of merchandising all around Toy Fair 2012. While most of it has been excellent, during Mattel's Collector media Event, we were bowled over by the unveiling of the Four Horsemen-sculpted "The Dark Knight Rises" Movie Masters action figure line! 3 of the 6 figures (Bane, Batman, & Catwoman) were on display, along with the line's first ever Collect & Connect Bat Signal --that really lights up! Now you see why got so excited?!

Toy Fair 2012: Justin Bieber Talks, Sings, And Has Really Great Sneakers

Ah, the checkered history of the male pop star doll. For every success like New Kids On The Block is a Vanilla Ice languishing in the clearance isles. Well, The Bridge Direct's line of Justin Bieber dolls is a certified hit, with several waves out since 2010 plus related items such as singing microphones and even a transforming van/stage. We caught up with the toy makers at Toy Fair 2012, to see what's new in the land of Bieber Dolls.

The two big elements of The Bridge's Spring and Fall Justin Bieber offerings are Voice and Fashion -- and how they blend. The new additions to their singing doll line will use songs from the Biebs's new album, and feature specific fashions used in the music videos. Every Bieber doll in the line showcases a specific outfit that the young pop star has either worn in a video or personal appearance. Great care is taken with these clothing ensembles, with even the high-top sneakers demonstrating a high level of detail. Read More...

Toy Fair 2012: Mattel Gets "Brave" With Dolls Based On The Disney Pixar Movie!

With her bow and arrows, Merida is no ordinary Disney Princess. Mattel's new line based on the highly-anticipated animated movie Brave combines just the right mix of action and fashion doll "musts" - cool outfits and awesome hair! Mattel is no stranger to adapting Pixar favorites as toys, having produced some great dolls in the past for Toy Story. Here's a sneak peek at their Brave offerings, from this year's Toy Fair.

Toy Fair 2012: The Lizard Revealed with Hasbro's 'The Amazing Spider-Man' Toys

Before "The Amazing Spider-Man" swings into theaters this July, Hasbro will be making sure the toy aisles are loaded with all manner of plaything based on the film! During Toy Fair 2012, Hasbro got permission to show the 6" version of the Lizard in all his green-hued glory during their Media Event! Not relegated to only a figure, we were also treated to other toys in the line sporting his wicked visage, including a mask that can make anyone look like an unstable scientist who let their obsessions drive them over the edge! Like the current Spider-man toy line, Hasbro has directed most of this one towards the kiddos, but there are still some pieces that adults will want to grab.

Toy Fair 2012: Jakks Pacific Reinstates the Men In Black

Skrulls In The Avengers Movie Confirmed At Toy Fair

During out tour of Jakks Pacific's Toy Fair 2012 showroom, we lucked upon this little gem as we were photographing their display of new board games based on Spider-man, Pirates of the Caribbean, and a little license known as "The Avengers"! As you can see in these MTV Geek exclusive images, the enemy pieces for the game, while pink, will be very familiar to Marvel Comics' fans. To our eyes, theses little pink wonders from "The Avengers" Mighty Battle Skill and Strategy Game look like the spitting image of the shape-shifting Skrulls! While the Skrull's involvement in the upcoming film have been denied; this coupled with the recent Superbowl ad makes it very hard to argue that they don't play a large part. As an added bonus, the bottom right hand side of the box states it's "the Battle for the Cosmic Cube!"
