Some of you may remember the awesome, life-size LEGO Batman that Evan Bacon built last year for Brick Fiesta in Austin, Texas. He won a few different awards at the show and this year it looks like he wanted to keep the trend going, showing up with a life-size LEGO Iron Man! Read More...

One of the best part of going to a big Con is the exclusives, and FanExpo is no different! Whether you're looking for a unique gift, or just gotta have it all, here's a rundown of the Exclusive items you can snag at FanExpo Canada 2012:

After a long drought, Mattel's latest wave of DC Comics-based figures are hitting retail shelves-- and both Batman and Superman are sporting their looks from the New 52! Is that worth the exclamation point? Well, that depends on the fan; but these costumes seem to be sticking around so it's nice to get figures of these particular looks so quickly. Yeah, we know the DC reboot has been around for a year now, but that's also about how long it takes to produce an action figure from start to finish. Anyway, we were able to acquire the DC Universe Classics All-Star Superman figure at our local comic shop, and we're inviting you to join us as we take a closer look at this particular Kal-El, to judge if he's a worthy successor to the previously released (a gazillion different times) Supes we've had in the DCUC line.

Ready or not, Canada, here comes MTV Geek! We're hitting up FanExpo Canada again this year for coverage of all things comics, TV, toys, cosplay, and, you know, other geeky stuff. Poutine is geeky, right? Because it's going to be 95% poutine coverage. Or we're going to be 95% covered in poutine, one of the two.

In any case, as one of the largest cross-genre conventions in the world - last year's Con drew a massive 80,000 attendees over four days - there's a lot to do. Complicating matters? FanExpo is split into several "different" Cons: Comics; Sci-Fi; Horror; Anime; Gaming; and Poutine. There's a large amount of actual overlap between the conventions, including the highly trafficked lobby outside the Con Floor, which is the best place to get insane cosplay photo ops... Read More...

NECA announced their intentions to create a line of action figures based on Ridley Scott's Prometheus a few months ago, and during the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con International we got a good, close look at them. Now, as Series 1's release (September 2012) approaches ever closer, NECA has revealed both versions of the Engineer in all their clamshell-ed glory! From all that we've seen, NECA has really went all out with this line, including planning out multiple characters and assortments. Our favorite part? These figures technically exist in the same universe as NECA's Predator line, so now our hunters will have some new prey!

What happens when you get 5,000 children, parents and LEGO employees in the same room with nearly 2 million LEGO bricks? Well, I could let the photo above speak for itself, but I'd much rather tell you – they rebuild the entire island of Japan out of the world's favorite building toy! Read More...

Diamond Select Toys is bringing out Minimates based on "The Walking Dead" comic book series, from Image Comics. Sure, this is nothing new, and we've reported on it at length, but as their release date keeps creeping ever closer, DST is making sure we remember by sending along a bunch of photos that would make even the most prudish of individuals gasp in wonderment and grab their wallets in the hopes of finding these little pieces of rotted goodness on the shelves. Also, DST appears to be throwing down the gauntlet with their incredible gauntlet-throwing outdoor Minimate photography (that's OUR bag!)--and by bringing back our infinite sadness from seeing Glenn again.

Ever since we overheard Obi-Wan Kenobi revealing its true power to Luke Skywalker, Star Wars fans have dreamt of one day mastering the Force. Thankfully, what can take younglings decades to perfect will only take mere moments for us normal folks, as long as we're wearing the Star Wars Force Glove!

While all the cool kids are arguing over if Scott Summers is gonna bite the dust at the end of AvX, Diamond Select Toys is remembering the massive crossover events of yesteryear last year with their upcoming release of Minimate sets based on Marvel's Fear Itself! Yes, the multi-part comic event that gave us back the Winter Soldier has been immortalized forever in two multi-packs featuring the temporary looks of both the heroes and the villains. No matter what kind of taste that storyline left in our mouths, we gotta admit that the tiny, evil Thing Minimate looks pretty awesome!

Well, it's finally happened. Hot Toys has completely unveiled their 1/6th scale Hulk figure based on his appearance in this summer's "The Avengers" and he clocks in at a full 16.5" tall! We had hoped to see this behemoth during the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con International, but Hot Toys kept Dr. Banner on lock down and under wraps, like a crack S.H.I.E.L.D. unit, until this morning. While we love the looks of the big guy, action figures, Hot Toys included, become more "toyish" when you can see their joints, so we lost some of our enthusiasm upon seeing the shoulders and wrists-- but, then we learned that Hulk has the freaky moving eyeballs like Hot Toys' Joker figure and all was forgiven! No suggested retail price has be given, so we're going to go with "more than we can afford" until an official announcement.

Read on for all the info on the Hulk, along with a TON of photos, courtesy of our friends at Hot Toys!

Even though Lord of the Rings has official LEGO sets available these days people keep taking it upon themselves to recreate scenes from the films on their own. And why not? There are a ton of memorable moments, landscapes and events to draw inspiration from and the amazing diorama seen above is just one example. Read More...

The Expanded Universe has long been a point of contention between its validity to the Star Wars canon. From Boba Fett's survival in the Sarlaac Pit to one of Han and Leia's twins becoming drunk with power, the extra content found in the myriad of Star Wars novels, comics and videogames is undeniably popular. Now, Sideshow Collectibles has gotten into the game with their new Mythos line of high-end statues based on conceptual ideas that fit "between the scenes" of everyone's favorite Wookie-filled movie franchise: Star Wars! With their announcement of the Ben Kenobi Star Wars: Mythos statue, not only are they bringing "Old Ben" to fans as he makes his way across the deserts of Tatooine on his way to hermit-hood, but he even has interchangeable heads with the look of Sir Alec Guiness AND Ewan McGregor!

Read on for more photos, info on the statue, plus insight from the artists involved about their inspiration for the look of Obi-Wan!
