The pre-Toy Fair reveals roll on with the news that Diamond Select Toys will be releasing 2 waves of Minimates based on Marvel's upcoming The Avengers film that blasts it's way into theaters on May 4th! While the second enemy (Skrulls?) aren't shown; feast your eyes on tiny versions of Captain America, Iron Man, and the rest of the Avengers. DST has been killing it with their Minimates line and these look to further the addiction of collectors everywhere!

Remember that incredible Mega-Scale Lion-O from Mezco Toyz we premiered a while back? Mezco Toyz released two versions of the ThunderCats' fearless leader (one regular and an SDCC version with an alternate head and glowing eyes) in 2011. Well, it looks like he's scored both an archenemy AND an ally with two new releases in Mezco's ThunderCats line! Panthro and Mumm-Ra the Ever-Living are large and in charge-- but are still in the final phases of development. Luckily, MTV Geek and Mezco Toyz are bringing you an exclusive first look at the two new figures and the processes involved in creating them.

The Jay-Z quoting Superbowl spot for G.I. Joe: Retaliation didn't disappoint, and neither do Hasbro's upcoming line of action figures based on the film! The company is no stranger to fans of MTV Geek or toy collectors thanks to their high-quality aftermarket weapons, and after temporarily shutting down their online operations, Spy Monkey is back and better than ever with a new line of Glyos-system based customizable swords, hammers, shields, and whatever your mind can think up! We were recently sent a review set of Spy Monkey's Armory Series 1 in the Bloodlust color-scheme, so we invited Hordak (evil despotic ruler of Etheria) over to gives his take on these new tools of the trade!

After yesterday's deluge of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toy images, we thought it'd be a nice change of pace to add some videos-- oh, and some new pics! The videos spotlight the various lines, while the photos were taken throughout the TMNT showroom and give us closer looks at Shredder, April, Splinter, Krang, and the Foot Clan Soldiers from the new line from Playmates Toys. Honestly, we are incredibly excited for all of these new toys (3 toes and all) and the wait for Fall will be a long and harsh one.

We almost, ALMOST wrote the entire chorus to Prince's "When Doves Cry" at the beginning of this review. For what reason? One: we love that f'n song! Two: The Hawk and Dove figures from Mattel's DC Universe Classics are totally 80s! Sure, Brightest Day helped put these two back in the spotlight, but nostalgia brings this duo to the dance! Okay, so this one picture of Hawkeye from The Avengers is all we've got from the upcoming Diamond Select Toys release, but we thought you all you'd enjoy a glimpse of the heroic archer. What a great looking figure! With DST using the ball-joint torso articulation, we've been loving their Marvel Select figures more and more. The recycling of our childhood toys just keeps getting better and better! First, Masters of the Universe Classics rekindled our love of magical barbarians. Then, ThunderCats Classics brought Lion-O back into our lives. Now, some of the most cherished (and radical) heroes of our youth have been re-imagined with the release of Playmates Toys' Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Classic Collection! That's right, TMNT Classics! We were awash with nostalgia when first seeing these photos, and it has torn us up inside having to wait until now to share the Turtle Power with all of you in this first look! Playmates Toys, the company behind the vintage TMNT line, has taken the same looks from the 1988 TV show and perfected them by adding tons of articulation and joined that with the smooth sculpting of those original Heroes in a Half-Shell.

The one Ring could easily fit over Frodo's entire body now that he and his Fellowship are about to be immortalized as LEGO Minifigs in the upcoming Lord of the Rings line! The two images we were sent show a set of the fine folk of Middle Earth who set out to destroy the Ring of Power, and a set of shifty-eyed Orcs and nogoodniks. David Hasselhoff dominated syndicated TV for years thanks to re-runs of Knight Rider and Baywatch tearing up the airwaves at all hours of the night. While that is all well and good, we remember Michael Knight and KITT turboboost-ing their way in primetime on NBC more than Mitch Buchannon sweating on the beach!
