The wait for something new from "Arrested Development" came to an end this Memorial Day weekend, but while the season as a whole is getting mixed reviews, one thing’s for sure…it was chock full of cameos. From a paper salesmen of "The Office" to the telemarketers of "Workaholics," everyone seemed to make an appearance.

When you think of weddings you think of the dress, the party and of course, the cake. Yeah, there’s the love between the couple, but the cake makes everything seem a lot better! Well, when you’re a hardcore geek, you can’t have a run of the mill generic white wedding cake. You have to showcase you’re a horror fan, a gamer, a Cumberbitch, a cosplay maven, or whatever else you might be. Luckily there are people like Tracey Rothwell of Little Cherry/Black Cherry Cakes who are masters of their dessert baking craft and can help make your special day even more delicious. And nerdy!

Previously this summer, we snagged a copy of the "Iron Man 3" Junior Novelization and combed it for spoilers. Some ended up being accurate, some… Not so much: doesn’t seem like Mandarin escaped at the end of the movie to wreck vengeance another day. Now, it’s "Man of Steel’s" turn; with the twist being that the Junior Novelization only covers “The Early Years.” So no Zod, no Lois Lane… But there are a couple of intriguing bits that may – or may not – turn out to be true in the upcoming Superman movie:

With some pretty serious finality, the last episode of the ratings-challenged "Fringe" effectively sewed up any dangling plot threads for Peter, Walter, and Olivia. It was the kind of finale that was satisfying to fans, inasmuch as it closed the loop on many of the show's mysteries, but poses a problem for anyone who wants to come along and do anything with these characters.
And that's how we end up with "Fringe: The Zodiac Paradox," the first of three prequel novels from publisher Titan Books this year, spotlighting the trio at the heart of the series. And writer Christa Faust, in constructing a tale about the origins of Cortexiphan delivers a clunky early adventure featuring Walter Bishop and future Massive Dynamics founder William Bell (and Nina Sharpe, too), as the action moves to the West Coast bringing the trio up against the Bay Area serial killer whose atomic fists and murderous appetites threaten all of San Francisco.

It is crucial to know a few things about the new Nickelodeon cartoon series “Sanjay and Craig.” It is about a boy with a pet snake. It talks … and sometimes puts on a wig and human clothes when the radically awesome duo embark on occasionally gross-out adventures like witnessing a butt transplant or having a barf off. And they are in the best friends hall of fame. There is no best friends hall of fame (they made it up!).

There's big news in the world of fandom this week as Amazon announced its Kindle Worlds program. It's a program in which anyone can submit a story to Amazon for electronic publication via the Kindle and receive a portion of the proceeds for every one that's sold. While this may sound like something they've been doing for quite some time (it is) the significant part of this story is that Amazon has teamed up wtih Alloy Entertainment to allow these stories to be about intellectual properties that ran on television. Currently "Gossip Girl," "Pretty Little Liars," and "The Vampire Diaries" with promises of more licenses to come later. The upshot of this announcement is that you can get paid to legally write "Vampire Diaries" fan fiction.
