In an official statement, Syfy confirmed that the superheroes-meet-real-world TV series "Alphas" will not be renewed for a third season:

"Syfy has decided not to renew Alphas for a third season. We've been proud to present this entertaining, high-quality series for two seasons and to work with an incredible ensemble of talented actors, producers and creatives as well as our partners at BermanBraun Television. Over the course of one season, Alphas has gone from, “that show that’s not Heroes on SyFy,” to an actually good show with a rich mythology, a game cast, and devoted fans.
