A couple of weeks ago we ran pics from the wedding of "Batgirl" and Nightwing" a.k.a. Laura and Seth, Bat-superfans. We loved the pics, but we needed to know, how exactly they pulled off such a gloriously geeky wedding. So we went right to the source!

There are people who like superheroes, and then there are people like Laura and Seth. See Seth’s first love after Lauren is Nightwing and for Lauren, she’ll always have more than enough room in her heart for Batgirl. So when the two decided to get married, those fandoms had to come through in every aspect. Even their proposal was super, uh, popping the question while skydiving? How much closer can you get to being a caped crusader?

From their engagement photos that showcased the crime fighting couple posing alongside their favorite action figures to their invitations adorned in the respected logos, nothing was left untouched by their Nightwing and Batgirl love.

Dubbed a "Batgirl homage" by publisher Bluewater Productions, there is a new cover to the comic book "Fame: Demi Lovato" that inexplicably features the teen star dressed as the famous superheroine. The "1st printing cover," illustrated by Jon Woodard, will be available exclusively on ITunes. For those fans of paper comics, a "2nd printing red cover" is offered on Comic Book Flea Market.

Perhaps expecting some sort of collective raised eyebrows reaction to the Lovato cover, Bluewater publisher Darren G. Davis said in a press release:

In news that should be ever so slightly shocking to anyone who has followed the comics news-o-sphere the past few weeks, writer Gail Simone just announced the following on Twitter:

You can go get your socks now, because clearly they were just KNOCKED RIGHT OFF. For the rest of you, here's the deal, and what we THINK is going to happen: Read More...

It’s getting close to holiday time, and that means comic book publishers eyes turn more towards trades and reprints than the monthly comics. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything to read you guys, and this week’s comics are led by AVENGERS ARENA #1. The Hunger Games set in the Marvel Universe title pits teen superheroes against each other, to the death, and promises to off some fan favorites in big, big ways. Read More...

We're getting dark here, folks!

With "Batgirl" writer Gail Simone announcing on Twitter that she is no longer writing the comic -- in the middle of the pivotal "Death of the Family" arc no less -- my mind is starting to speculate on the fate of Barbara Gordon. When we last checked into the comic, in issue #14, Joker seemed to have the  hots for Batgirl, complete with standard flowers and a box of candy. At the same time, as we saw in "Suicide Squad" #14, Joker came back and confronted his former partner/sidekick/doormat Harley Quinn regarding her cheating on him with Deadshot. Read More...

Well, THAT was an intriguing headline, wasn't it? Does it have any substantiation at all? Have I just made this up out of nowhere for just some cheap, fleeting unique views?

Just because this week is taken over by all things New York Comic Con doesn’t mean that new comics aren’t coming out. In fact, this is one of the biggest weeks of the year, as Marvel kicks off their Marvel NOW! initiative with the hotly anticipated UNCANNY AVENGERS #1.

I’ll be honest: I’ve been looking forward to this Rick Remender written, John Cassaday pencilled book more than the entirety of Avengers vs. X-Men together. Not only is the line-up interesting, mixing popular mutants with popular Avengers make something potentially even more popular; but Remender has been writing some insane storylines lately, and coupled with Cassaday, returning to comics after a long absence, this is an Event worth checking out... Even if you aren’t a regular Marvel reader. Read More...

This September, DC Comics is turning it all the way back to zero, taking a look at what went on in the DCU before the New 52. Like we did a year ago with the first month of DC’s new universe, we’re going to give you some looks at all the "Zero Month" titles coming out over the next few weeks.

So here we go:

It’s week two of Zero Month, which means we officially don’t understand numbers anymore. But we do understand DC will probably dominate the market again, particularly with a strong slew of bat-books. That’s led by BATMAN #0, which will flash back to the time period around Batman: Year One, but also includes BATGIRL #0 and BATMAN AND ROBIN #0.
