Hat tip to Badass Digest for bringing these to our attention.

Back in 2009, for CustomCon 24, Eric Dlugokinski created custom "Friday the 13th" Minimates based on the first 3 flicks in the series. From "Friday Part 1" we get Pamela and lake-jumping Jason. From "Part 2" we get flour sack head Jason with bonus "Sloth face hillbilly head." And for "Part 3" we get the iconic hockey mask-donning killer we all know and love.

Following their partnership with action Figure Xpress at SDCC 2012, Diamond Select Toys is once again partnering up to release ThunderCats and Alpha Flight Minimate sets at New York Comic-Con 2012! This time, the evil forces of Thundera have made their presence felt as Slithe, Jackalman, Monkian, and Vultureman can now join the previously released Mumm-Ra in the fight against the ThunderCats. Also on tap is another batch of Alpha Flight members from the often-canceled Marvel comic book. This set includes Sasquatch, Shaman, Snowbird, and Aurora, so the Canadian super team is almost completely filled out. They must feel so sad to have lost Wolverine all those years ago.

With "The Expendables 2" lighting up theater screens all across the globe, with more explosions than you can shake a Michael Bay at, we figured it'd be a good time to review Diamond Select Toys' latest release from "The Expendables" Minimates line! While the first set included Sylvester Stallone, this four-pack brings Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Terry Crews and Bruce Willis a.k.a. "The Man"! Are these four action icons worthy to join the ranks of our Minimates collection alongside such warriors as Thor and Magneto?

Diamond Select Toys is bringing out Minimates based on "The Walking Dead" comic book series, from Image Comics. Sure, this is nothing new, and we've reported on it at length, but as their release date keeps creeping ever closer, DST is making sure we remember by sending along a bunch of photos that would make even the most prudish of individuals gasp in wonderment and grab their wallets in the hopes of finding these little pieces of rotted goodness on the shelves. Also, DST appears to be throwing down the gauntlet with their incredible gauntlet-throwing outdoor Minimate photography (that's OUR bag!)--and by bringing back our infinite sadness from seeing Glenn again.

While all the cool kids are arguing over if Scott Summers is gonna bite the dust at the end of AvX, Diamond Select Toys is remembering the massive crossover events of yesteryear last year with their upcoming release of Minimate sets based on Marvel's Fear Itself! Yes, the multi-part comic event that gave us back the Winter Soldier has been immortalized forever in two multi-packs featuring the temporary looks of both the heroes and the villains. No matter what kind of taste that storyline left in our mouths, we gotta admit that the tiny, evil Thing Minimate looks pretty awesome!

Back in the early days of collectible action figures, Art Asylum was the company responsible for some of the coolest and edgiest designs around. Their figures weren't found in Wal-Mart or the other big retail chains, but instead were stocked in comic shop and music stores. Digger T. Mesch, and his incredible sculpting prowess, was the man running the Asylum and has since went on to pioneer the Minimates design and a number of fantastic statues and figures from companies like Diamond Select Toys-- and he was also one of the first guys in the trenches fighting for artist's rights against the big toy companies! Now, Digger is taking his eye for design to the small screen with his directorial debut on the new web-series "Agent 88"-- and he needs your help! While some big names (Heavy Metal, Diamond Select Toys, Jim Mahfood, David Mack, etc.) have shown their support, the funds to make this series about an 88 year-old, absent-minded, female assassin is coming from donations through Kickstarter. How does helping out give back to you, other than that warm, fuzzy feeling in your belly? How about exclusive art books and custom Minimates?!

Toy Fair 2012: DST's Marvel Minimates

Remember when Wolverine got impregnated by the Brood and then almost turned into one before his healing factor kicked in? No? Well, then you're missing out on some damn fine storytelling! Forget all about the X-Men fighting the Avengers, cause there was a time when things were all about space, and aliens... and Dazzler! We put the blame solely on Professor X spending all of his free time hooking up with Shair War Queens instead of teaching his students to stand up for themselves Magneto-style.Well, now you can relive those Ridley Scott moments in the privacy of your own home, (and behind locked doors if you're way more into it than the law will allow) with wave #47 of Diamond Select Toys' Marvel Minimates! We hate Longshot with a passion, so you can guess who is gonna fall first!

DST has been hinting at some type of Battle Beasts goodness since 2010, and it looks like the wait is finally over!

Toy Fair 2012: Diamond Select Minimates

Diamond Select Toys' Minimates have slowly become a collecting obsession around here and it doesn't look like that's gonna change anytime soon now that they're set to release miniaturized versions of our favorite characters from Image Comics' The Walking Dead! The first set sees Rick Grimes and Dale facing off against four different zombies-- each tiny, and in a different state of decay! Being Minimates, these will not only fit in scale-wise with the other releases from Marvel, etc., but can also share parts. That means all of our superhero Minimates are now at risk of the zombie outbreak! The Walking Dead Comic Series Minimates are planned for September, so we should have them stuffed into our pockets in time to enjoy the Halloween season.

David Hasselhoff dominated syndicated TV for years thanks to re-runs of Knight Rider and Baywatch tearing up the airwaves at all hours of the night. While that is all well and good, we remember Michael Knight and KITT turboboost-ing their way in primetime on NBC more than Mitch Buchannon sweating on the beach! Man, we couldn't get enough of Knight Rider and now Diamond Select Toys has flooded our senses with leather jackets and Trans Ams thanks to the release of two new Minimates vehicles! Join us for our review of KITT, KARR, and two Minimates of The Hoff!
