The "Angry Birds" media onslaught continues. Not only is a CG feature film on the way from the Rovio-developed physics action game, but starting in March, "Angry Birds Toons" will debut online.

While we've pretty much established that Lego is our favorite building material let's not forget that there are plenty of other great build-and-play style toys out there. One of them is K'NEX and in collaboration with Rovio they've just announced a new line of Angry Birds-themed construction sets. Read More...

Angry Birds has come to life as plush toys, board games, a recipe book and even sandals. Now, through a partnership between Rovio and Lappset Group the pissed-off avian egg-layers and their fat, sloppy, green rivals are going to be taking over schoolyards as playground equipment and ready-made “activity parks” as early as next year. We’ve known for quite some time that Rovio planned on expanding the Angry Birds universe to books and possibly movies. Now, Diamond has been granted exclusive distribution rights to the first three Angry Birds books - one of which will show you great ways to cook up those stolen eggs. Read More...

Everybody's favorite mobile game takes a turn for the dark in "The Birds Of Anger," part of G4's Epictober Film Festival. It's an Angry Birds/Hitchcock mashup as we're introduced to a world where the agitated avians not only target pigs -- but humans!

"The Birds of Anger" reimagines Angry Birds in a more realistic (and scary!) setting

"The Birds Of Anger is directed by Gregg Bishop, director of the “Dance of the Dead” -- and you might recognize the the raven-haired leading lady, Jaimie Alexander, as Sif from Thor. Anyway, here's the short film "The Birds Of Anger" -- those with delicate constitutions might want to just stick with the best-selling Rovio game. Read More...

The Angry Birds are on fire these days. The app has been downloaded over 300 million times across multiple platforms, they’re on their way to Hollywood, they recently became superheroes and they‘ve even got a killer fan-made motion comic. Now, Julien Brasart has taken their cutesy theme song and turned it into the hard rockin’ soundtrack it should have always been!

We’re talking about a game in which disgusting green pigs have stolen eggs from some innocent birds who in turn launched a full blown assault on the pig fortresses. If that’s not enough to bust out the guitar for a bad ass Angry Birds solo I don’t know what is. You can watch Julien bust out his version of the Angry Birds theme song below. Read More...

We already know Rovio wants to take Angry Birds to Hollywood, but what about comic books? Sure, there really isn’t any dialogue between the birds and pigs in the smartphone game, but this Angry Birds motion comic shows us that we may not need it. Read More...

Since its launch in 2009 Angry Birds has been downloaded 250 million times. Last week Rovio Mobile unleashed the Valentine’s Day update for their ultra-popular Angry Birds Seasons and now, it looks like Pocket-Lint got the inside scoop on some more Angry Birds news, straight from the source. Apparently Angry Birds is making its way to Windows Phone 7 devices and it looks like there’s an Angry Birds 3D in the works!

Back when Windows Phone 7 was launching Microsoft took it upon themselves to use some Angry Birds imagery to promote their new mobile platform, without Rovio’s consent. According to the post over at Pocket-Lint those sour days are water under the bridge now and Angry Birds is most definitely making its way to WP7 in the near future. There was unspecific release date announced but Rovio did say, “We’re working on it.” Apparently the hold up hasn’t been Rovio Mobile; instead they note ‘Microsoft has a lot of lawyers.”

The real news (in my opinion) is the announcement of Angry Birds 3D. New devices like the Nintendo 3DS and LG Optimus 3D don’t require us to wear those lame glasses and 3D games could be all the rage when these handhelds hit the market. With Angry Birds already ridiculously successful, there’s no question a 3D version would be a next step. Especially considering Rovio Mobile acquired 3D game developer Pixelgene back in 2006. Just like Angry Birds for WP7, there’s no word on when Angry Birds 3D will launch, or which devices we’ll see it on first, all we know is, “it’s all in the works.”

Would you play Angry Birds in 3D if you didn’t have to wear glasses? What about Windows Phone 7 users? Are you excited the blockbuster mobile game of 2010 is making its way to you device?
